Prince William Opens Up with Mental Health Struggle

Prince William attended the first-ever This Can Happen conference in London alongside friend Neil Laybourn, in a bid to highlight the issue of men’s mental health.

The 36-year-old royal took part in an interactive workshop created to underline the importance of physical and emotional health. During the conference, he addressed his own past as a pilot at the East Anglian Air Ambulance. He says that having three children himself with Kate Middleton made some calls involving children so “very traumatic” they almost sent him “over the edge.”

William worked with doctors and paramedics providing emergency services throughout England.

“I got very sad and very down about this particular family,” he said.

William continued: “After I had my own children, I think the relation between the job and the personal life was what really took me over the edge, and I started feeling things that I have never felt before. Talking was really important, but even that wasn’t quite enough for one particular incident for me.”
