TouchTunes has presented the first-ever Tunie Awards recognizing the most popular songs and artists played on over 1,900 Waffle House/TouchTunes jukeboxes over the past year.

The Tunie award winners were announced during a Facebook Live event on November 15th. Atlanta radio stars Madison James and Jason Pullman hosted the show and presented awards including the Song of the Year and the Scattered, Smothered & Discovered Artist of the Year. The results are based on the 30 million songs played on Waffle House/TouchTunes Jukeboxes over the past 12 months.

Khalid’s “Location” was named 2018’s most played song on Waffle House TouchTunes Jukeboxes, followed by Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road.” Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” came in at No. 3, followed by Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” at No. 4.

Other songs that made the top 10 include “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars, “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes.”

Also at the Tunie Awards, Michael Jackson was named most-played artist of 2018 on the Waffle House jukeboxes, while Imagine Dragons won the award for most-played rock song for “Thunder.”

“That means the world to us,” Imagine Dragons drummer Dan Platzman said of the win. “This is like you basically took our hearts, and you scattered, smothered, double-covered and peppered them.”
