Normani announced on Monday that she will be joining Ariana Grande as support for the first leg of The Sweetener World Tour.

“excited would be an absolute understatement,” Normani shared on Twitter with her fans. “I’m feeling special right now because I get to spend three months on tour with @arianagrande the sweetest of angels. THANK YOU! See y’all soon.”

Meanwhile, Ariana’s ex Ricky Alvarez has something to say about his mention in her new song “thank u, next!”

Ari gave a shout-out to her former tour dancer with the lyrics, “Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh.”

Ricky – who knew about the line before the song was released – took to his Instagram Stories to post a video of himself listening to the song and zooming in when his name was dropped.

“HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH IM SORRY U GOT THE WORST LINE,” Ariana replied. “It was meant v lovingly.”

“Nothing but gratitude,” Ricky shared. “Thank u, next. … (those songs are fire tho… you’re welcome).” Ariana was first linked to Ricky in the summer of 2015. Their split was confirmed a year later in 2016.

Ariana will be making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week for the debut performance of “thank u, next.” She will appear on Ellen’s show on Wednesday and will also perform her current single “Breathin’” on television for the first time.
