16 months after Elephant Hill, radio in Ashcroft is back on the air
ASHCROFT, B.C. — Last summer’s Elephant Hill fire consumed thousands of hectares, from Ashcroft north past Clinton.
Hundreds of properties were damaged or destroyed, including the B-100/CIFM radio transmitter atop Elephant Hill.
The old transmitter site was reduced to ashes and dust after the fire in July, 2017.
The original building, constructed in the 1960s, along with the wooden supports and the transmitter tower were all completely destroyed.
