TYLER PERRY IS DONE WITH MADEA: Buh-bye. Tyler Perry says his is bidding farewell to the beloved character Madea in 2019. The director told SiriusXMhost Bevy Smith that it is “time.” He said: “We’re going to say goodbye in ’19. I just don’t want to be her age playing her.” Madea first entered the world in 1999, via his play “I Can Do Bad All by Myself.” Since then, she has appeared in Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes to Jail, Madea’s Witness Protection and more. Will you miss her?

BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR DIRECTOR ACCUSED OF ASSAULT: The French director Abdellatif Kechiche, who won the Palme D’or for Blue Is The Warmest Color, is being accused by a young actress of sexual assault. The unnamed star says the attack occurred at a dinner party in Paris. Kechiche is denying the allegations.

FIRST LOOK AT JULIANNE MOORE IN AFTER THE WEDDING: Julianne Moore is holding back tears in the first look at After the Wedding, Bart Freunlich‘s English-language version of Susanne Bier‘s Oscar-nominated 2006 Danish drama. Michelle Williams, Billy Crudup and Abby Quinn also star in the film, which follows the director of an Indian orphanage whose past haunts her.

NICOLAS CAGE, KELSEY GRAMMER SIGN ON FOR GRAND ISLE: Clint Eastwood‘s camera operator Stephen S. Campanelli will direct Nicolas Cageand Kelsey Grammer in Grand Isle, a thriller following a gun-happy ex-Marine (Cage) living on a quiet island in Louisiana with his wife (KaDee Strickland). When he hires a handyman (Luke Benward) to fix a fence after he killed an intruder, things take a strange turn and a detective (Grammer) has to intervene.

FX, BBC SIGN DEAL: In a broad pact, FX Networks and the BBC have signed a licensing deal that will give the U.K. broadcaster exclusive rights to all new FX scripted series. This includes some of this year’s successes, including Pose and Mayans M.C. Cate Blanchett‘s Mrs. America will also head across the pond, plus a limited series biopic about stage legends Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon starring Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams. “At FX, as with the BBC, we are dedicated to curating a portfolio of the best programs television has to offer and working with producers who tell stories that not only entertain, but illuminate the human condition,” said Eric Schrier, president of original series at FX Networks and FX Productions. “We are grateful to the BBC for their recognition of the quality of FX programs and to our colleagues at TCFTVD for their support.”
