Zoe Kravitz Goes Nude To Honor Her Mom

Zoe Kravitz reveals that she has been secretly engaged since February in a sprawling new cover story with Rolling Stone. She appeared nude on the cover, in homage to her mother Lisa Bonet, who stripped down 30 years ago for the magazine while two months pregnant with Kravitz.

The 29-year-old Big Little Lies star explains she’s been engaged to actor Karl Glusman since February, and while it wasn’t a huge plot to keep it out of the press, Kravitz did want time to enjoy their happiness outside of the limelight.

Writer Josh Eells asked her about the diamond she was wearing, and she says: “Oh yeah, I’m engaged […] I haven’t told anyone yet – I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.”

She describes the engagement, which she says was perfect: “I think I was a little drunk. I could feel his heart beating so fast – I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him! I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home, in sweatpants.”

Kravitz and Glusman were first linked in October of 2016.

Kravitz also speaks out about less-happy life events. She shares her own #MeToo moment, without naming names.

“I definitely worked with a director who made me very uncomfortable. I was young – maybe 19 or 20 – and we were on location, staying at the same hotel. And it was full-on: ‘Can I come inside your room?’ Just totally inappropriate,” she says. “And then he’d do things like come to the makeup trailer and touch my hair. Or say, ‘Let me see your costume – turn around?’ It’s just never OK for someone to do that. Especially when they’re in a position of power.”
