Poppies now available by donation in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The Royal Canadian Legion kicked off their annual poppy campaign Friday.

Poppy and pin donation boxes have been distributed to various malls and businesses in the city, encouraging people to donate and wear the symbol of remembrance.

The poppy campaign is the Kamloops Legion’s biggest fundraiser of the year, raising around $60,000 for veterans and youth programs each year.

It’s also an opportunity for the public to show veterans that their service has not been forgotten.
