Royals Whisked Away

Meghan Markle‘s solo outing to a local market in Fiji was cut short Wednesday over the Kensington Palace called “crowd control concerns.” Meghan, of course, recently announced her pregnancy and some are speculating that she may be feeling overwhelmed on her 16-day trip abroad.

Before being whisked away, she gave a speech that addressed concerns over access to education for all.

“Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to receive education that they want, but more importantly the education they have the right to receive,” she said.

Markle also shared a glimpse into her own hardscrabble past. “It was through scholarships, financial aid programs and work-study where my earnings from a job on campus went directly towards my tuition that I was able to attend university,” she said.

Royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah told CBS that she thinks Meghan may have felt “flustered.” Nikkhah said: “I think for Meghan this being her first major overseas tour, she may have been caught slightly by surprise by how demanding each engagement is, and you have to put on a bit of a game face for every engagement…but that is the whole part and parcel that comes with being a member of the royal family. You’ve got to put your game face on.”

HARRY DISCUSSES BABY’S GENDER

Prince Harry, meanwhile, acknowledged the public fuss over the sex of their unborn child. During a visit to the University of the South Pacific, Harry told a fan who predicted a male child: “Everyone else is predicting it’s going to be a girl!”
