Tk’emlups Indian Band election taking place next month

KAMLOOPS — While municipal elections across the region and the province have wrapped up, some voters aren’t done doing their job yet.

The Tk’emlups te Secwepemc election will be held next month, with advance voting beginning on Nov. 3 at Moccasin Square gardens, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. General voting will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at the same time and place.

There will be a new chief of the band after Fred Seymour chose to not run for re-election.

Joshua Gottfriedson and Rosanne Casimir are running for chief, and 14 people are running for seven spots on council. Those candidates are:
