Amy Schumer and Rihanna Back Colin Kaepernick

Super Bowl fans will not be graced with any Amy Schumer spots between plays this year. The I Feel Pretty star says she is turning down all NFL offers after they apparently blacklisted Colin Kaepernick and other players who kneeled during the national anthem as a symbolic protest of police brutality.

She shared the news on Instagram: “I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year. I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got. Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them.”

She does have Super Bowl spots in her past: In 2016, Schumer appeared in a Bud Light commercial alongside Seth Rogen.

But Schumer is also calling on others to join her boycott, saying Maroon 5 should bow out of halftime, and gave a shout-out to Rihanna amid reports that she refused to perform.
