Jennifer Garner Ready For Divorce

Meanwhile, Affleck has broken his silence on his stint in rehab.

He took to Instagram to write: “This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment center for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care. The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say. It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others.”

He continued: “Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a lifelong commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family. So many people have reached out on social media and spoke about their own journeys with addiction. To those people I want to say thank you. Your strength and courage is inspiring and is supporting me in ways I didn’t think was possible. It helps to know I am not alone. As I’ve had to remind myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of wisdom and strength, not weakness or failure. With acceptance and humility, I continue to avail myself with the help of so many people and I am grateful to all those who are there for me. I hope down the road I can offer an example to others who are struggling.”

Affleck and Garner have continued to spend holidays and vacations together and Garner is credited with getting Affleck, also 46, back into rehab in August for the third time. Until he was out and stabilized, she put the divorce proceedings on pause, but now that he’s back on the straight and narrow, she is reportedly ready to pull the trigger.

Affleck and Garner started dating in 2004 after working together on 2001’s Pearl Harbor and 2003’s Daredevil. They married in Turks and Caicos in June 2005.
Together, they share three children:daughters Violet, now 12, and Seraphina, 9, and son Samuel, 6.
When they split, they released a joint statement that said: “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to coparenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
