SALMON ARM, B.C. — Mounties in Salmon Arm are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man involved in a hit-and-run yesterday (Sept. 24).

Staff Sgt. Scott West says it occurred at around 8:00 a.m. on 20th Street near Okanagan Avenue SE.

“Police are attempting to locate a small blue car which is alleged to have come in contact with a 15 year old male pedestrian who had been crossing through an uncontrolled crosswalk,” he says. “After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle departed the area, without regard for the young man, before turning east onto Okanagan Avenue SE.”

West says the blue car may have dents in the hood area.

“The driver of the vehicle has been described as an older Caucasian male, with white hair and possibly a white beard. There may have been an older female in the passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of this incident.”

He says police are trying to find the vehicle, its driver and any witnesses.

West says the boy suffered “only minor injuries.”
