Kamloops lawyer appointed to UBC board; still considering another run for federal politics
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops lawyer and former federal NDP candidate is returning to his roots, thanks to an appointment by B.C.’s provincial government.
Bill Sundhu has been selected for a seat on UBC’s Board of Governors and completed a two-day orientation last week.
“It is a one-year appointment initially, which is standard, to determine whether I’m suitable for the position and whether I like it, whether it’s a good fit,” he tells CFJC Today.
“I’m passionate and motivated in this regard because I’m an alma mater (alumnus) of UBC, I got my first degree there. And it’s a world-leading university and we know that post-secondary education is very important to the well-being of our society and progress of our country.”
