KAMLOOPS — Dylan Ferguson’s work in backstopping the Blazers to a pair of wins over the Kelowna Rocket to begin the season hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Ferguson has been named the Western Hockey League goaltender of the week for the first weekend of the season.
The 20-year old from Lantzville, B.C. stopped 25 of 26 shots in Friday’s 4-1 win over Kelowna, followed by a 39 save performance a night later in a 3-1 Blazers win in the Little Apple.
The Vegas Golden Knights prospect finished the weekend with a goals against of one and a .970 saves percentage.
