John Mayer gushed about his relationship with Dave Chappelle while making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night. Mayer spoke about his duo performances with Chappelle, where the two entertainers both sing songs and tell jokes, giving them each a chance to try their hand at the other’s craft.”He’s one of the greatest leaders of a room I’ve ever seen,” Mayer told Jimmy.”I gotta say, I’ve always wanted to be a stand-up and it didn’t work very well for me,” John continued. “Don’t worry, I have a good thing going otherwise, but advice to anybody that’s struggling as a stand-up comic: One of the best things you can do is just stand next to Dave Chappelle on stage, if you get the opportunity. He’s such a great guy to set up for jokes. He goes up and he’s better at what he does than anybody is at anything they do. That’s why you go and see Dave. He’s a great comic, but you’re also watching someone just nail something.” John also debuted the trailer for his new show that’s exclusively on his Instagram page and performs his latest single “New Light.”

Reilly) struggles with his evolving friendship with his energetic, glitchy pal Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman).

The first song I am choosing to release is called ‘Head Above Water’,” the 33-year-old singer wrote in a letter to fans. The singer revealed she wrote the song during her scary battle with Lyme disease. The lyrics are basically a prayer to God asking for help weathering a difficult time in her life.”God, keep my head above water/Don’t let me drown, it gets harder/I’ll meet you there at the altar/As I fall down to my knee, don’t let me drown,” Avril sings on the chorus. Avril explains the story behind the lyrics in a statement: “One night, I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die. My mom laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning. Under my breath, I prayed, ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’ In that moment, the songwriting of this album began.”This is Avril’s first new music since she released a song called “Fly” in 2015. There’s no release date yet for Avril’s new album. Avril is also working to bring awareness to Lyme Disease through her Avril Lavigne Foundation.
