KELOWNA — An Okanagan man has died while scuba diving on Okanagan Lake.

Emergency crews were called to Fintry Delta Road, on the North Westside of Okanagan Lake, Sunday around 12:22 pm, where a 56 year old West Kelowna man was said to be unresponsive, and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

“The investigation is still on-going, however it appears the diver may have gone into medical distress during an 80 foot dive,” says Cst. Kelly Brett. “Other divers and witnesses on scene provided life saving measures to the male until emergency crews arrived. Sadly despite those efforts the male passed away.”

Brett says the death is deemed non suspicious in nature and the RCMP continue to work with the Coroners Service on the investigation.
