KAMLOOPS — Blazers power forward Jermaine Loewen is coming back to Kamloops sometime mid-week, according to head coach Serge Lajoie.

The new bench boss is looking forward to having Loewen return in time for the season opener on Friday against the Kelowna Rockets, bringing a veteran presence the team could use.

“It’ll be great to have him back, absolutely. Just the experience, the way he plays the game, and he’ll be counted on to be an example for our younger players coming in,” noted Lajoie. “And a reminder for our returning players that for the Kamloops Blazers to be successful there’s a certain way we need to play.”

Loewen’s return means Lajoie’s philosophy of being the hardest-working team in the league takes one giant step ahead.
