AVRIL LAVIGNE SHARES SNIPPET OF NEW SINGLE: After announcing through her website that she will release her first single in years – “Head Above Water” – on September 19th, Avril Lavigne took to Twitter to share a sneak peek of her long-awaited comeback with fans. The dramatic piano ballad features Avril singing, “I’ve gotta keep the calm before the storm/I don’t want less, I don’t want more/ Must bar the windows and the doors/ To keep me safe, to keep me warm.” As previously reported, Avril posted a lengthy letter to her fans on her website in which she described how happy she is to be putting out new music after a years-long battle with Lyme Disease that left her bedridden. She also revealed how she wrote “Head Above Water” during “one of the scariest moments of my life.” There’s no release date yet for Avril’s new album.
MARIAH CAREY DEBUTS ‘GTFO’ MUSIC VIDEO: Mariah Carey has dropped the music video for her latest song “GTFO.” “GTFO” is the first taste of the singer’s upcoming 15th studio album, due out later this year. The official lead single, “With You,” arrives in October. “I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn’t so serious. I’ve had so much fun making this album, and I wanted the first moment to reflect that light-hearted spirit,” she said. In the clip, the singer reclines throughout her house in lingerie, drifting from the living room to the kitchen to the bedroom while sipping wine and posing for the camera while singing her kiss-off lyrics.
