KAMLOOPS — He’s been in Kamloops less than a year, but the second-in-command at the local RCMP detachment is already headed south for bigger things.

Operations Officer Insp. Todd Balaban is transferring to RCMP headquarters in Surrey, where he will be Officer in Charge of Lower Mainland Traffic Services.

Balaban began his job in Kamloops in January, 2018.

“I have enjoyed my time in Kamloops and the experience with the staff at the detachment and the City of Kamloops have made a lasting impact on me with their positive outlook and support,” he says. “All of them will be missed. Kamloops is a fantastic place to work and live and I hope to have the opportunity to come back to Kamloops one day!”
