WARNER BROS. DISTANCES ITSELF FROM DISGRACED A STAR IS BORN PRODUCER: Just as the Lady Gaga-starring and Bradley Cooper-helmed A Star Is Born makes its bow at film festivals, producer Jon Peters is getting attention for accusations of harassment. Peters, who dated Barbra Streisand and was instrumental in bringing the 1976 version of the film to the screen, was found guilty in 2011 for “severe and pervasive” harassment of former employee Shelly Morita. (He later settled with her in an undisclosed sum). Warner Bros. is backing away from its ties to Peters. “Jon Peters’ attachment to this property goes as far back as 1976,” said the studio in a statement. “Legally, we had to honor the contractual obligation in order to make this film.”
SARAH JESSICA PARKER ACCUSED OF KEEPING $150K IN JEWELS: Sarah Jessica Parker borrowed $150K worth of jewelry for a photo shoot two years ago, and never returned the goods, according to court docs filed by Kat Florence Design, per The Blast. “After the photo shoot was over,” Kat Florence claims, “the Defendant asked if she could personally borrow several pieces of the jewelry to wear for a few months and then return all the pieces thereafter.”
GEOFFREY OWENS BOOK ACTING GIG: Just a week after Cosby Show alum Geoffrey Owens was photographed working at Trader Joe’s, he booked an acting gig. Owens, who blamed Bill Cosby’s sex scandal on his lack of work, will guest-star on NCIS: New Orleans. He also recently nabbed a recurring role on Tyler Perry‘s The Haves and Have Nots.
DEBRA MESSING REIGNITES FEUD WITH SUSAN SARANDON: Debra Messing and Susan Sarandon are at it again. After Sarandon told Variety that President Donald Trump‘s administration is unwittingly inspiring women and people of color to run against his policies, Messing took to Twitter telling her to “STFU.” She continued: “Oh yes, PLEASE let’s give Trump CREDIT. I mean how else are you able to walk out on the street.”
