DJ KHALED, JIMMY KIMMEL HEADLINE POLITICAL FUNDRAISER HOSTED BY LA MAYOR: DJ Khaled and Jimmy Kimmel will perform at a fundraiser hosted by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to elect more Democrats during this year’s midterm elections. Kimmel will emcee the fundraiser and Khaled will provide the music at Garcetti’s September 25th event, which aims to raise $1 million – $100,000 for races in 10 states – in one night. Those 10 states include California, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The event is organized by the Democratic Victory Midterm Fund, a SuperPAC affiliated with Garcetti that seeks to elect more Democrats to Congress in races that are overlooked by the national party.

IMAGINE DRAGONS TO LIVE-STREAM ACOUSTIC CHARITY PERFORMANCE: Imagine Dragons will play an acoustic show this Friday at a gala for the band’s charity organization, the Tyler Robinson Foundation. If you can’t make it to Las Vegas for the event, you can still watch it streaming online. ID’s set will stream live via the band’s Facebook stage. The performance begins at 9:45 p.m. [PT.] The Tyler Robinson Foundation raises money for children battling pediatric cancer and their families. For more info, visit TRF.org.

BEBE, NORMANI, ELLA TO ANNOUNCE AMA NOMINATIONS: Bebe Rexha, Ella Mai, Normani and country star Kane Brown will announce he nominees for the American Music Awards today live from YouTube Space LA, and you can watch the proceedings on the AMA YouTube channel. Things get underway at noon [ET]. Following the announcement, you’ll be able to watch a panel discussion with Normani, Bebe, Ella and Kane. All four artists have a good shot at getting nominated, thanks to, respectively, their hits “Love Lies,” “Meant to Be,” “Boo’d Up” and “Heaven.” The 2018 American Music Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on October 9th. black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross will host for the second year in a row.

ALEC BALDWIN HAS MARRIAGE ADVICE FOR JUSTIN BIEBER AND NIECE HAILEY BALDWIN: Alec Baldwin had some advice for his supermodel niece Hailey Baldwin, who recently announced her engagement to pop star Justin Bieber. Speaking to Canada’s eTalk on a red carpet in Toronto, the Emmy-winning star said, “People who get married young, and they are very young, I want them to just spend time with each other. Obviously, he in particular has this crazy superstar career.” Noting that he himself turns down work if he can’t bring his wife and children with him, Baldwin added, “I don’t want to be away from my family. And I hope that [Justin and Hailey] realize that! If you want to have a successful marriage, you have to be together. You gotta stay together.” Baldwin also insisted that he “knows nothing” about any wedding plans. Last month, Hailey’s dad Billy Baldwin said that he wants Alec to be the MC at the happy event.

SHAWN MENDES FALLS OFF SCOOTER: Shawn Mendes had a slight mishap. On his Instagram Story, the singer showed off his scraped cheekbone and chin, which he captioned, “Fell off a bird LOL.” But the caption doesn’t mean that Shawn was riding around on an ostrich or other avian, despite a number of amusing memes. A Bird is a brand of electric scooter that’s available for rental in various cities. It’s not clear which city Shawn took a fall in, but he’s currently in Nashville preparing to tape his episode of CMT Crossroads with country superstars Zac Brown Band.

DUA LIPA RELEASES VIDEO OF LIVE ‘IDGAF’ PERFORMANCE: Dua Lipa has released a new video featuring a live performance of “IDGAF” from one of her recent tour dates. “IDGAF LIVE VERSION! Memoriessss oh the memories,” Dua writes on Twitter. “This video makes me very happy. Hope you like it.” The clip starts with Dua’s voice telling the crowd, “Tonight, I want you to be yourself. Be your authentic and true self. Lose all your inhibitions. Be your most unapologetic you and never listen to anyone that tells you otherwise. Let’s dance the night away and take tonight’s feeling everywhere you go.” She then launches into her sassy send-off to an ex-lover, as the audience sings along. Dua’s new single, “Electricity,” with Mark Ronson and Diplo’s Silk City, is out now.
