WOODY ALLEN STEPPING BACK: After decades of cranking out a movie a year, Woody Allen is taking a break, Page Six reports. He wrapped his 48th film, A Rainy Day in New York, in November. (It will land on Amazon). Allen, 82, has been hurt by the #MeToo movement. He was first accused of molesting his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow 26 years ago, but, ironically, it took his son Ronan Farrow‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning articles in the New Yorker about accusations against Harvey Weinstein to make Dylan’s allegations a real issue for him. “Woody always got great actors. Stars would work for scale because it gave them prestige, but with the #MeToo movement, he’s toxic,” one Hollywood producer told Page Six. Indeed, several of his actors, including Timothe Chalamet, Griffin Newman and Rebecca Hall, denounced him and said they’d donate their salaries from Rainy Day to charity. (Page Six)
LOUIS C.K. RETURNS: Louis C.K. returned to the stage for the first time since admitting to sexual misconduct. He appeared at New York’s Comedy Cellar for a surprise set Sunday night, Vulture reports. He did not address the subject of the five women who accused him of misconduct, instead focusing on topics like “racism, waitresses tips, parades.” After admitting to making female coworkers make him masturbate, he lost several lucrative gigs with FX, plus his agent and management.
