KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is hosting a public hearing tonight at the Sandman Centre, touching on a variety of topics, including discussion about cannabis licensing and a new housing project at Spirit Square that is projected to begin this fall.

The public hearing will start at 7 p.m. at the Valley First lounge at the Sandman Centre. The spirit square project has been approved by the city and is subject to the rezoning of the land on MacKenzie Avenue from P-1 (Parks and Recreation) to C1-T (Tranquille Road Commercial), which would allow for development on the land.

The building would feature 33 residential market suites and 43 affordable housing suites for seniors, to be run by ASK Wellness.
