KAMLOOPS — The design for a new public monument to volunteers who helped out during the 2017 wildfire season has been finalized.
Artists Lee-Anne Chisholm and Aaron Harder’s work “Lend a Hand” emerged after a selection process including votes from Thompson-Nicola Regional District and City of Kamloops representatives, as well as the result of a public vote.
The monument will be built in a location outside of Sandman Centre, with installation expected in November.
The TNRD has budgeted $100,000 for the project.
