Overlanders Day rescheduled for September

KAMLOOPS — Good news for the thousands of people who enjoy Overlanders Day each year.

The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 23 at McDonald Park. This after it had been postponed on Sunday due to poor air quality from all the wildfire smoke blowing in from northern B.C.

North Shore Business Improvement Association Executive Director Jeremy Heighton says nothing will change except the event will start an hour later and run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“My team yesterday spent most of the day with all of the people involved with Overlanders Day and there are lots. Basically it comes down to a consensus that the desire is to move forward with an event this year.”

He’s confident by September 23 wildfire smoke won’t be a problem and says next year’s event will be held a month earlier on July 21.
