Smoke disrupts arrivals and departures at Kamloops Airport
KAMLOOPS — For the first time this year, the wildfire smoke has disrupted flight traffic at Kamloops Airport.
Airport Manager Heather McCarley says things changed drastically Friday afternoon.
“Yesterday, it was in the afternoon that we lost that four kilometres [of visibility] that we had for the last couple of days. We’re down to two kilometres or even less,” said McCarley.
McCarley says, as of early Saturday afternoon, two inbound flights had diverted to other destinations rather than attempt landings at Fulton Field.
