Crash, spill closes Highway 5A from Kamloops to Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — Highway 5A is closed in both directions between Kamloops and Merritt Friday afternoon thanks to a semi crash.

The crash itself happened near Nicola Lake.

Video from the scene posted to Facebook shows an overturned truck, with a full load spilled on the highway.

It’s not known what the material is, or if the driver was injured.

Drive BC says there is no estimated time for the highway to re-open.
