Kamloops teen dies at Kelowna Music Festival
KELOWNA — UPDATE — A local family is devastated after the death of a 16-year old girl Friday night at a Kelowna Music Festival. The girl went into medical distress Friday night, and emergency crews were called about 9:00 PM. She was rushed to hospital but could not be revived. It’s not known what caused the incident, but shortly after, Interior Health posted a warning that mixing drugs or using drugs while drinking puts you at an increased risk of an overdose. Officials have not confirmed that such was the case in this instance. A spokesman for the Center of Gravity Music Festival, a three-day sports and music festival in Kelowna, issued a message of condolence to the family, and said they were working with officials in the investigation. Police say they haven’t seen any signs of criminality in the case, but are continuing their investigation. A number of Facebook Posts have identified the girl as Adison Davies, and friends of the family have set up a Go Fund Me page to aid in expenses.
