Kamloops Airport opens brand new floatplane dock
KAMLOOPS — Friday morning, the Kamloops Airport held a grand-re-opening of the float plane dock located on the north bank of the Thompson River.
Dozens of people were on hand for the grand re-opening of the facility, which includes a new gangway and dock, as well as some landscaping improvements. Kamloops Airport Managing Director Heather McCarley says these improvements to the float plane dock were long overdue.
“This is probably the largest project we’ve undertaken on behalf of the general aviation community here at the airport in recent years,” McCarley explained. “It’s been so well received. We’ve worked closely with the BC Floatplane Association and the South Airport Operators to get their expertise and their feedback to make sure the project will work for them going forward.”
