MEGHAN TRAINOR TO PERFORM AT 2018 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS: Meghan Trainor will be hitting the stage at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. The singer will deliver a performance of her new song “Let You Be Right,” off her upcoming album Treat Myself. Other performers at the ceremony will include Lauv, singing his platinum hit “I Like Me Better,” and Khalid, performing a special medley of hit songs. This year’s nominees include Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons. The 2018 Teen Choice Awards airs live from the Forum in Los Angeles on August 12th on FOX.
MEL B SAYS THE SPICE GIRLS ARE REFORMING: The Spice Girls are finally getting back together, according to Mel B. In an interview with the British talk show Loose Women on Monday, Mel B, also known as Scary Spice, said that the group will be reforming this year. “We’re sisters at the end of the day and what we went through was quite an amazing, brilliant, journey so we’re together, we’re back together,” Mel B added. When questioned about whether all of the group would be involved, Mel said: “There’s one that’s been a bit difficult. But she’s getting roped in.” The group formed in 1994 is and is made up of Melani Brown (Scary Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice). After Halliwell left the group in 1998, the rest of the group disbanded after their 2000 album, Forever. The last time they performed was in 2012 at the closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in London.
COLOR ME BADD SINGER ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED ASSAULT FOLLOWING CONCERT: Bryan Abrams, a member of the band Color Me Badd, was arrested for allegedly shoving bandmate Mark Calderon during the band’s signature hit, “I Wanna Sex You Up” onstage during a concert in Waterloo, New York, Saturday. Abrams was arrested after the incident at the Vine at del Lago Casino, which resulted in Calderon taking a trip to the hospital for treatment of neck and back injuries sustained when he fell on sound equipment after being shoved. Abrams was released Monday on bond and is scheduled to return to court on August 28th.
