NEW TRAILER FOR BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY DROPS: In a new trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody, an exasperated Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) screams “How many more Galileos do you want,” as Freddy Mercury (Rami Malek) demands one more take. The new trailer also includes stadium moments and foreshadowing for dark days ahead for Mercury as he is diagnosed with AIDS. 20th Century Fox releases Bohemian Rhapsody on November 2.
GRAMMY AWARDS SETS 2019 DATE IN L.A.: The Grammys are returning to L.A. for 2019, CBS said Tuesday. The 61stAnnual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the Staples Center Sunday, February 10, 8-11:30 PM/live ET/5-8:30 PM, live PT on CBS. Nominations will be announced in all 84 categories on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The Grammys were held last year at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, a first for the awards since 2003.
ANNE RICE’S VAMPIRE CHRONICLES LANDS AT HULU: Two years after cranking into production, Anne Rice‘s Vampire Chronicles TV series has landed at Hulu. In a competitive bidding war, Hulu clinched the deal on the drama, penned by Rice and her son, Christopher. Mother and son will exec produce the potential series alongside Anonymous Content‘s David Kanter and Steve Golin. More than 100 million copies of Rice’s Vampire Chronicles have been sold globally since the series debut in 1976.
SUPERMAN COSTUME DESIGNER DIES: Yvonne Blake, creator of the iconic superhero costume in the 1978 blockbuster Superman, has died at age 78. The British-born designer won an Oscar for her work on the 1971 historical drama Nicholas and Alexandra. Her creations can also be seen in Norman Jewison‘s Jesus Christ Superstar (1973); Robin and Marian (1976), starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn; the 1976 war film The Eagle Has Landed, and Milos Forman‘s Goya’s Ghost (2006).
