CAMILA CABELLO, CHARLIE PUTH AMONG TOP SELLING ALBUMS OF 2018 SO FAR: We’re now officially halfway through 2018 and the Recording Industry Association of America has counted up all the year’s album sales to determine the bestsellers of the last six months. According to the RIAA, Post Malone’s album beerbongs and bentleys is the only disc in 2018 to have been certified double platinum for sales of two million units. There are only four albums that have been certified platinum for sales of a million units: Camila Cabello’s self-titled debut, Drake’s new album Scorpion, Culture II by Migos and the Black Panther soundtrack. Only seven albums so far this year have been certified gold for sales of 500,000 units – they include Charlie Puth’s Voicenotes, Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods and Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy. The bestselling single so far this year is Drake’s multi-week No. 1 “God’s Plan,” which has sold eight million units. The best-selling pop single of 2018 to date is Camila’s “Never Be the Same,” which has been certified double platinum for sales of two million units.

ST.VINCENT WAS GETTING ‘BUMMED OUT’ BY TWITTER: St. Vincent says she removed Twitter from her phone because she was “bummed out about the state of the world.” The musician – real name Anne Clark – decided to lessen the time she was spending on the social media platform because the political discourse between her fellow Americas was making her miserable. St. Vincent made the revelation when asked by Q magazine when was the last time she had a Twitter spat with someone, admitting it was back in January 2017 around the time of President Trump’s inauguration. She said, “I took Twitter and stuff off my phone, just because I was getting bummed out about the state of the world.” St. Vincent is a liberal when it comes to her political beliefs and is far from impressed by Donald Trump’s actions since getting into the White House and she has described him as a “cartoon yeast infection.” St. Vincent released her most recent album, “Masseducation,” last October and on the record she tackles the shift in politics in the country and themes of power.

HALSEY NOT REBOUNDING WITH MACHINE GUN KELLY: Following her split with G-Eazy, Halsey is not moving on with another rapper. A source tells Us Weekly that despite rumors, Halsey isn’t dating Machine Gun Kelly. The two were spotted together outside a nightclub on June 28th, but the source explains, “Halsey and Machine Gun Kelly are just friends. She definitely isn’t rebounding with him.” According to the source, Halsey and MGK “have known each other for a long time and share a ton of mutual friends.” As for why Halsey and G-Eazy split after a year of dating, the source says their crazy schedules just made it too hard for them to see each other.
