KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is promising an action-packed Canada Day celebration at Riverside Park on Sunday.

Community Events and Wellness Coordinator Dewi Evans says this year’s festivities will run from dawn until well past dusk with no shortage of activities for people of all ages.

“We’ve got over 100 booths from the Kamloops Art Council, four stages of different (musical) acts throughout the day, the family zone and 12 ethnic food groups, food trucks and fireworks.”

Folks can avoid traffic headaches by taking free transit with the last bus leaving the Lansdowne Bus Loop at 11:30 p.m. once the fireworks have finished.

Evans says the event usually draws anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 people each year but says it’s always dependent on the weather.
