Alessia Cara’s Growing Pains Acoustic: Watch Here

In the midst of a radio tour promoting her ode to the stresses of adulthood, “Growing Pains,” Alessia Cara delivered a stripped down version of the single on Wednesday.

Accompanied only by her guitarist Eric Ruscinski and her “neck vein,” Cara’s vocals capture the melancholy reality of facing the real-world unknown highlighted in the lyrics. “Make my way through the motions, I try to ignore it/But home’s looking farther the closer I get/Don’t know why I can’t see the end/Is it over yet?” she croons.

“Growing Pains” is the first single off her upcoming sophomore album The Pains of Growing.

Cara, who turns 22 next month, rose from YouTube fame to pop stardom in 2015. Her debut album, Know It All, went platinum that same year.
