KAMLOOPS — Tim Horton’s restaurants right across North America are brewing up a difference as part of the annual Camp Day fundraiser.

Today, proceeds from a cup of coffee or any hot beverage will be donated directly to the Tim Horton Childrens Foundation, helping to provide thousands of kids from low-income families with the adventure of a lifetime: a chance to go to camp.

“All of our coffee sales for the day, all of the money gets donated to the childrens camp and then our bracelets and any other donations we get throughout the day and the last week go to kids at camp,” said store manager B-Jay Smith.

Since 1974, the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation has provided more than 257,000 youth a camp experience, taking part in one of the seven camps at no cost.

“It’s a big deal for all of us,” said Smith. “Not only myself, but the whole staff. We get letters back from them every year, thanking us for sending them. They’re very, very happy, very appreciative. It’s just a chance they wouldn’t normally get, which is great.”

Funds raised in Kamloops today will benefit local kids.
