KCKC Hosts 4th Annual Open House Saturday June 2nd

Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club will be hosting our 4th annual Open House this Saturday June 2nd from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. This is an opportunity for families to come and check out the paddling sports and enjoy the scenery. Kids 7 years and up will have an opportunity to get out on the water and learn a bit about the sport and recreational aspects of canoe and kayak. Adults may also come out on their own to try a boat, ask about individual lessons or find out more about our Masters Program. Our Summer Staff and Competitive Team members will be on hand to help you try out canoes and kayaks For Free. We provide all the equipment. You may get to see one of the lake’s resident eagles catch a fish or try to spot one of the Red Winged Black Birds that nest near the shore. The event takes place at Shumway Lake 20 Km South of Kamloops on Highway 5A Kamloops Princeton Highway (The Old Merritt Highway). Look for the new Shumway Water Sports Facility sign! Bring a towel and a change of clothes – just in case!
