Deadman River fire ‘being held’
SAVONA — Good news regarding the wildfire that broke out last night near Savona.
The blaze, officially dubbed the Deadman River fire, is now classified as ‘being held.’
“That fire is currently estimated at 150 hectares and is classified as being held,” said Marla Catherall, communications assistant with the Kamloops Fire Centre. “Being held just means the perimeter is not likely to spread because of weather and suppression tactics.”
She says crews battled the fire through the night and says there are currently three firefighters on scene.
