Kamloops senior robbed while waiting for the bus
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP is seeking the public’s help after a 93 year woman had her necklace stolen at a bus stop in Kamloops Wednesday.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it happened between 2:00 and 2:20 p.m., while the victim was waiting at a bus stop near Columbia Street and 10th Avenue.
“The senior citizen reported to Kamloops RCMP that while waiting for a bus, a car stopped near her. A female exited the vehicle and started to talk to her in a foreign language,” she says.
“The woman had a cheap necklace in her hand and kept motioning toward the senior that she wanted to put the necklace on her. The senior told her that she did not want the necklace on but the woman placed it on her anyway, and while doing, she took the senior’s expensive necklace off of her.”
