KAMLOOPS — Officials in the Interior say flood waters have begun to subside in the Nazko Valley, but people can’t go home just yet.
The Cariboo Regional District says the B-C River Forecast Centre is indicating that water will rise again as temperatures climb over the next few days, and levels could get as high as they did during last weekend’s peak.
Residents of 120 properties remain out of their homes after evacuation orders were issued due to flooding on Sunday.
The regional district says it plans to allow people back home as soon as conditions are safe.
