Victim of Toronto van attack has Kamloops connection

KAMLOOPS — It is a tragedy that touched the hearts of Canadians right across the country. A tragedy that has families grieving the loss of their loved ones, after a van rammed into pedestrians on a sidewalk in Toronto. The suspect, 25-year-old Alek Minassian from Richmond Hill Ontario, was arrested within minutes, but not before multiple individuals were injured or killed. Police say 10 people have died and 14 were injured in the attack on Monday. One of the victims has a Kamloops connection. 80-year old Dorothy Sewell was know by her grandson to be an ‘all Canadian’ grandmother. Elwood Delaney says she was the ‘best nan anyone could have asked for” and will be greatly missed.
