City of Kamloops going green for Humboldt
KAMLOOPS — UPDATE- Kamloops City Hall and the Tournament Capital Centre are bathed in green this morning as the City expresses its condolences and support for the community of Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
Following the bus crash last week that killed 15 players on the Humboldt hockey team, with 14 more injured, the city announced yesterday the green lights will stay lit for a week as a reminder of the tragedy.
Mayor Ken Christian says as a home town for a hockey team which travels virtually everywhere by bus, Kamloops feels the loss as if it’s our own.
In addition to the green lighhts, City Staff will join a campaign to wear jerseys tomorrow to support the #Humboldt Strong initiative.
