Passenger numbers soar at YKA

KAMLOOPS — A record first quarter for passenger traffic at Kamloops Airport.

Managing Director Heather McCarley says there was 92,471 passengers the first quarter of 2018, a 5.8 per cent increase over the first quarter of 2017.

She says the positive growth builds on the record fourth quarter the airport experienced in 2017.

McCarley expects the positive momentum to endure throughout the year.

“We are looking forward to continuing this momentum through 2018. WestJet’s extra Kamloops to Calgary flight starts on May 1 and Air Canada’s direct flight to Toronto starts in June.”
