A QUIET PLACE TRAILER DROPS: Paramount has released the final trailer for John Krasinski‘s horror-thriller A Quiet Place ahead of its Thursday opening. Krasinski directs and stars opposite his wife Emily Blunt. The film follows the story of a husband and wife who are trying to protect their children from monsters who have invaded earth. The tagline is, “If they hear you, they hunt you.”
ROSEANNE PREMIERE SETS LIVE+3 TOTAL VIEWER RECORD: ABC‘s Roseanne has set another milestone. After huge Live + Same Day and Live + 1 numbers, its Season 10 debut has delivered the biggest ever Live + 3 increase for any single telecast. The Roseanne reboot garnered an incredible 6.59 million viewer lift in the Live + 3 category. The previous record holder was the 2014 premiere of ABC‘s How To Get Away With Murder, which enjoyed a 5.93 million viewer gain. All told, Roseanne‘s premiere had 25 million eyeballs.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR A GLITTERING RATINGS BONANZA: The early ratings for NBC‘s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert are positive (roughly 6.0 overnight reading per Nielsen, and 9.4 million viewers), doubling the rating of the most recent live musical (Fox‘s A Christmas Story Live) and are up 40% over Fox‘s comparable Easter event two years ago, The Passion. The John Legend-starring musical’s rating also beat Sunday’s American Idol on ABC and 60 Minutes on CBS. Did you tune in?
COMEDY BREAKOUT INITIATIVE RENEWED BY TRUTV: The truTV Comedy Breakout Initiative is set to return to the New York Television Festival. Submissions are open from May 2-23, and the network is looking for comedy-driven formats with a distinct point of view. A winner will nab a $25K development deal. Finalists will be invited with “Official Artist” status to the 14th annual New York Television Festival from July 14-19.
