KAMLOOPS — School District 73 has announced an abrupt change in the administration at Westsyde Secondary School and the school in Logan Lake.

In a letter to parents, Assistant Superintendent Bill Hamblett says Tom Dinsdale is “stepping back” from his principal’s position as of Thursday of this week.

Chris Preymak, currently the principal of the elementary-secondary school in Logan Lake, will move into Dinsdale’s position.

Preymak was formerly a vice-principal at Westsyde Secondary.

District Vice-Principal of Trades and Transitions Ron Collins moves to the principal’s position in Logan Lake.

Changes in school administration typically happen after the end of the school year, but Hamblett would not specify why Dinsdale’s departure is taking place now.

“Sometimes we need to make changes not just at the end of the school year. As per the parent letter that was sent home, Mr. Dinsdale is stepping back from the principalship at Westsyde at this time. He’ll continue to support the district in other ways.”
