Suspect in Sahali Bed, Bath and Beyond smash-up arrested

KAMLOOPS — Mounties have arrested a 53 year old Kamloops man in connection with Tuesday’s attempted break and enter at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Early Tuesday morning, the suspect is alleged to have driven a Chevrolet Cruze through the front doors of the houseware and home merchandise store located in Columbia Square.

He failed to gain entry through the second set of doors though and left empty-handed.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police managed to catch up to the suspect Tuesday afternoon.

“From our surveillance video, we were able to get some of the license plate and from there we were able to determine whose vehicle it was.”

She says all investigative information will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service who will determine any criminal charges.

Shelkie says the suspect is known to police.
