KAMLOOPS — The case of a Kamloops man charged in a hit-and-run that killed a teenage girl, will not be heard in court today.
Jason Gourlay was scheduled to plead guilty today, in connection with the 2016 hit-and-run death of 16-year old Jennifer Gatey in Aberdeen, on November 4th. This afternoon, lawyers are expected to set a date for that plea some time in early April. Jennifer Gatey died on the eve of her 17th birthday after being hit on Pacific Way. Gourlay is charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident, along with an unrelated count of possession of a controlled substance. He elected last year for a judge-only trial.
