KAMLOOPS — Know your limits.

That’s the message Kamloops Fire Rescue has for hikers after a rope rescue in Peterson Creek Saturday evening.

Platoon Captain Troy Grant says two young men were hiking on the east side of the park’s waterfall when one found himself stuck in a spot he could not get down from.

“Fire crews arrived on scene, had to climb the hillside above, and lower a firefighter down on a rope to that individual where they put him in what we call a ‘B’ suit harness, and we lowered the firefighter and the hiker down to the canyon bottom where they were able to walk out to the parking lot,” Grant said.
