KAMLOOPS — A rude awakening for residents of a Kamloops trailer park this morning.

The RCMP are now saying at approximately 5:00 a.m. they responded “to a report of shots fired and a possible explosion” in the 1700-block of Ord Road. See CFJC’s original by clicking here.

“Upon arrival, a small fire was discovered outside the residence, as were several shell casings. Witnesses reported seeing a car leaving the area,” said Cpl. Kelly Butler. “The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.”

Butler says the incident is currently under investigation and asks anyone with information to call police or Crime Stoppers.

A neighbour who wishes to remain anonymous told CFJC Today the incident occurred at L & E Trailer Park.

He adds he heard three to five gunshots and notes the occupant of the home has been living there for just a few months.

The neighbour noted a few weeks ago the same trailer was fire bombed, and it has become a problem for the mobile home park.
