Alberta-based marijuana grower to set up manufacturing plant in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — An Alberta-based medical marijuana grower has announced plans to open a manufacturing facility in Kamloops.
Sundial Growers of Olds, Alberta has signed a deal with the Alliance of Beverage Licensees, or ABLE BC, to supply BC with 20 million grams of cannabis and related products once consumer marijuana use is legalized.
In a release, CEO Torsten Kuenzlen says the company will begin by supplying BC from its Alberta facility, but shift production to a new facility in Kamloops once that becomes licensed and operational.
Kuenzlen calls the move an “important milestone for Sundial” as it prepares to enter the consumer market.
