100 Mile House mill to temporarily suspend production
100 MILE HOUSE — As if 100 Mile House hasn’t gone through enough following last year’s weeks-long evacuation due to the devastating wildfires.
Now word from Norbord that it plans to suspend production at its OSB mill in 100 Mile House due to a shortage of wood.
The company says the wildfires last summer that damaged the logging areas surrounding the mill and severe weather conditions this winter have combined to hurt its ability to secure a sufficient wood supply.
Norbord expects the suspension to start on about May 14 and to continue for approximately one month.
